MY NEXT STEPS

First, believe.

Believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God who died for your sins and offers salvation as a free gift for all who put their trust in Him. To believe means to recognize that you have not lived up to the standard God desired for you. The Bible’s word for this is sin. Everyone, who has walked this earth, except Jesus, has sinned. (Romans 3:23)

Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Second, repent of your sins.

To repent means to change your mind. It means to turn away from your sins and turn toward God. You cannot turn away from something without turning to something else. Decide today that you no longer want to live life doing your own thing, but that you want to follow God's path instead.“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing might come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)

Third, confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Fourth, be baptized into Christ.

To be baptized, based on the Scriptural method, means to be immersed with water. It is a symbol of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, reminding us that when we are saved, we die to our selves and are raised to live a new life in Christ.“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” (Acts 2:38)

“Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:3-4)
